Overview
A holiday in a lodge/cabin offers a rural experience like no other, allowing you to escape from everyday life in the beautiful Kent countryside, promising you and your loved one a relaxing retreat. Rather than admiring the countryside views from your cabin window, why not spend your holiday relaxing amongst it?
We have a local farm shop, general shop, Co-Op, some local bars (one of which does eat as much as you like breakfasts and roast dinners), including country pubs that serve a fantastic range of great food with beer gardens, local Chinese restaurant and a very local high end restaurant Kathton House.
Cabins
Feather bedding (we have hypoallergenic bedding available also).
Each cabin is now fitted with a private dedicated hot tub, with privacy screening.
If you would like a stay longer than 4 days please contact us for a discount on our standard rate.
Comfort
Quality bedding and towels are provided as part of your stay with us which are laundered by an independent external specialist contractor, to ensure the very best quality and cleanliness.
Please let us know if you have any allergies or would prefer bedding that is not feather.
Food & Drink
Local takeaway sourcing/delivery service (we have contacts with a number of excellent local Indian, Chinese, pizza and other food outlets).
If you’d like somewhere to sit in and eat there are a number local pubs. The Golden Lion in the Sweechgate (which is within walking distance on a nice day), The Punch Tavern (which is less than a 2min drive away), Yew Tree (6mins), Gate Inn (approx. 10mins), Prince Of Wales (approx. 5mins), Grove Ferry Inn (approx. 10mins), Chopsticks is a sit down Chinese restaurant (approx. 2 miles away) all serving delicious hot food and fabulous cold dinks of all types.
Kathton House just 1 mile away in Sturry village provides a fabulous fine dining experience as does The Fordwich Arms (approx 1mile away) and the renowned gastro pub The Sportsman in Seasalter (11.8miles but well worth the trip) are all close by.
Travel
We can arrange a shuttle service into Canterbury town or the 2 train stations, or pick up and return by a local taxi company. Public transport is very easily accessed from here.

Special rates apply for Valentines day/weekend and where high profile events are taking place (such as the Open Golf Championships in Sandwich) – please contact us regarding rates during these times.
Exclusive Events
We are able to host and help plan your special event from wedding receptions, landmark birthdays to festival style parties with exclusive use of the entire facility.
Events are available with personally tailored packages from DIY where you organise the event yourself right through to a fully organised event where we organise every aspect of the event for you including providing marquee facilities, live music, DJ’s, PA equipment, venue dressing, flowers, external caterers etc
We have in house specialist to help you plan you event and can source pretty much anything

The Boring Bit
The area where the cabins are located is rural and part of an equestrian facility so you will hear wildlife and surrounding nature and as the cabins/lodges are located in a field the ground is more suited to flat shoes, trainers and wellies than high heeled shoes 😊
The cabins/lodges made from wood therefore smoking and anything involving a naked flame inside them is expressly forbidden – that includes BBQ’s. Smoking is permitted outside, we respectfully request that all butts are deposited in the sand filled bins provided
As there are horses, rabbits and other wild animals in the field adjacent to the cabins/lodges we are sorry but we cannot allow pets or children.
Please be respectful of your cabin/lodge neighbours.
Cancellation policy
All bookings must be paid for at the time of the reservation
After that the lodge will be reserve for you. As we are offer a fairly exclusive holiday, refunds will be provided if we can relet the lodge to someone else.
